Reading the W/MH Column

Watts per megahash tells you how much electricity each unit consumes relative to its output. Lower is better for operating margin. A unit at 0.22 W/MH costs roughly half the power per hash compared to one at 0.44 W/MH at the same electricity rate.

Minimum Threshold: 0.05 GH/s

We focus on hardware at or above 0.05 GH/s (50 MH/s) because units below this threshold rarely justify the infrastructure cost of dedicated co-location in South Korea. Home operators running sub-threshold devices face electricity rates that erase mining margin during summer peak pricing.

Firmware Notes

Scrypt firmware versions significantly affect stable hashrate. We document the exact firmware hash in every assessment report. Units running stock firmware often throttle earlier than those with vetted custom profiles — but unverified custom firmware carries bricking risk. Our field notes cover specific version comparisons.

Before You Buy
